Don’t Wait for a Crisis. Prepare for a Crisis. Today.

A crisis isn’t a matter of if. It’s a matter of when.

While you might not be able to predict the time, place, or nature of a crisis, you can – and should – prepare for one.

UDIM has developed a crisis preparedness tool kit to help your management team and employees plan for a crisis, develop procedures and think through the internal and external relationships you”ll rely on during a crisis.

Our team is here to help, with crisis management support available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call 517-349-8923 for assistance or to learn more about creating a plan tailored for your farm.

3 Steps to Take Now

Don’t be caught off-guard. Prepare your crisis plan now to safeguard your farm and team against the unknown.

Step one:

Create a map of water, gas and electrical lines and update it yearly. Label electrical boxes and ensure everyone knows where they are located. Download an aerial map of your farm from Google to mark these items, and keep it on hand for easy reference.

Step two:

Get to know your local fire chief and law enforcement officers. Invite them for a tour so they are familiar with your buildings and farm.

Step three:

Maintain updated contact information for your team, first responders and key stakeholders, such as your veterinarian, dairy cooperative field staff, and UDIM. Ensure everyone on your farm knows where to access this information.
