Herbed Butter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme, fresh oregano or fresh rosemary
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Just a few ingredients generate a magnitude of flavor in this savory, herbed butter.

Instructions

  1. In small bowl combine butter, chives, thyme, garlic and pepper. Stir until well mixed. Spoon into small bowl or crock. (Or shape into 4-inch-long log.) Cover and refrigerate.
  2. Before serving bring butter mixture to room temperature. Serve with bread, baked potatoes, grilled beef or grilled chicken.

Yield: 1/2 cup; 8 servings
